To coincide with the summer exhibition at Penlee house Gallery in Penzance on the theme of Women Artists - a collaboration between Museums Worcestershire; OnFife and Penlee House and is supported by the Artfund, Art historian Catherine Wallace has put together a study day encompassing women artists featured in the collections of these three museums. The day begins with lectures at The Queen's Hotel featuring, Women artists who were mothers in Cornwall including Elizabeth Forbes, Dod Procter, Jill Garnier, Ruth Simpson and Joan Manning-Sanders. Then a lecture on Laura Knight: Changing Scenes-London-the Malvern Hills - Backstage at the theatre and ending with Scottish Women Artists 1850 onwards in Fife's museum collections including Anne Redpath (1895-1965), Bessie Davidson (1879 -1965) Elizabeth Blackadder (1931-2021), Kate Downie (b.1958), and many more.
