Swallows and Crows is the evocative folk project of cellist composer Paddy Mitton. A musical voyage trying to capture Cornwall’s sonic soul.
Inspired by the wild Cornish coast and the stories of those who call it home, Swallows and Crows’ signature sound combines folk music, sea shanties and hint of male voice choir. Blending hooky melodies with stirring harmonies that echo the soulful ghosts of stories long past and the lost mariners in them.
What started as a casual collaboration in the pub morphed into a full-fledged musical journey over recent years. A unique sonic identity dubbed as “brilliantly weird” by BBC Introducing.
