About this Event
Help make our beaches even better and commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Coastal Cleanup Day!
Come join Women and Climate to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Coastal Cleanup Day. Since 1985, over 269,000 volunteers have helped to make this a success and have removed more than 5 million pounds of litter and debris from our beaches and communities.
The event is a major part of International Coastal Cleanup, which is facilitated by The Ocean Conservancy and includes many U.S. states and territories and over 70 countries. In California, data is reported to the California Coastal Commission to be funneled into the world’s largest marine database. You are joining hundreds of thousands of volunteers all over the world to remove pollution from our ecosystems!
We will be hosting this at 2 different sites to give you an option that is closer to where you live:
1. North County - Frazee State Beach
Carlsbad State Beach
3200 Ocean St
Carlsbad, CA 92008
Meet on the grassy area overlooking the ocean, next to Offshore Surf shop
2. Point Loma - Kellogg Beach
South Western Yacht Club
2702 Qualtrough St
San Diego, CA 92106
Meet on the south lawn of the South Western Yacht Club
IMPORTANT: After you register for this event, please visit https://cleansd.samaritan.com/custom/501/cleanupday and select the same cleanup site you wish to volunteer and sign the volunteer waiver.
