Learn, connect, and engage at WTCI’s Justice Summit covering restorative justice, Gladue rights, community safety, and victim services.
About this Event

WTCI’s Justice Summit brings Wolastoqey community members and frontline community workers together for a full day of learning, dialogue, and connection focused on justice, rights, and community-based approaches. Topics will include restorative justice, community by-laws and peacekeepers, Indigenous court workers, Gladue rights, knowing your rights, and victim services.

This gathering is open to Wolastoqey members from the six Wolastoqey communities in New Brunswick, as well as non-wolastoqey community employees who support members in accessing justice-related services. The summit is designed to strengthen collaboration, knowledge of rights and access to supports across our communities.

Schedule

  • 8:00 AM – Breakfast
  • 9:00 AM – Summit begins (presentations and workshops)
  • Lunch provided
  • 4:00 PM – Day concludes

A youth space with activities will be available for participants who need to bring children. This space is optional and intended for children ages 5 and up.

Full agenda information will be shared closer to the event. We look forward to welcoming participants to this important gathering.


Travel & Accommodations

  • Travel costs will be covered for all participants travelling from outside the Fredericton area.
  • Accommodations are provided for Wolastoqey members from Woodstock, Madawaska, and Tobique for two nights March 12th & 13th at the Delta Fredericton. Credit card will be required to book a room. If this presents an issue please contact Trisha Sappier, [email protected]
  • Participants will book their own hotel room using the provided booking link. WTCI will cover room costs, taxes, and parking. Participants will recieve the booking link via email in your ticket order confirmation.
  • As per our event policy - once the room block is full, participants may book alternate accommodations and will be reimbursed up to $189 per night, plus tax and parking.
