CREW
CREW (CALL)
Vancouver’s Big-Boat Fleet is constantly recruiting CREW that can commit to ANY RVYC Wednesday Night Race, from April 29 to September 9, 2026.
CREW (SIGN UP)
here for the Crew Pool by choosing GOING (if you can race), or INTERESTED (if you want to, but cannot commit… yet). You can also make a comment. Your name may appear beside boat needing crew, or skippers may call you directly. Randy Vogel (Strum) will add potential GOING crew names below, plus the name of the boat & home port in brackets (see Charlie Brown example). Please turn Facebook messenger on, so skippers can contact you.
CREW (FACEBOOK RESPONSES)
GOING (can race some WNR)
1. Charlie Brown (Strum, RVYC B3)
REMEMBER
Select GOING if you can commit to ANY future 2026 Wednesday Night Race (Confirmed boat will appear beside or name).
&
Select INTERESTED if you CANNOT commit to any future WNR dates at this time, but maybe later.
Please understand VANCOUVER BIG BOAT FLEET motivation is to help get as many Vancouver Big Boats sailing as possible. It is possible that your first choice may not need crew, yet there will be boats that suffer from last minute cancellations due to work, illness or rush hour traffic. Regardless of which boat you sail on, we all intend to sit at our dedicated Big-Boat Fleet table on the RVYC Jericho clubhouse Upper Deck for dinner (CCs accepted).

CREW (SOCIAL MEDIA)
Remember to ask before tagging your boat & team mates before posting. Keep it clean, this is a sport for all ages.
CREW (WEIGHT/BAGS)
Best practice: Arrive wearing all cloths needed, you are only off the dock for @2 hours. If you need to bring a gear bag, max 30L/5gal is recommended. Boats typically provide hydration, sunscreen and drawer for keys/phones. Leave what you can on the dock, as weight & space is important to performance. Check with skippers regarding PFD & wet weather gear requirements. Sailing gloves, sailing shoes and sunglasses recommended.
AT ALL TIMES, gear bags to be closed & secured. Please DO NOT leave personal gear on board, unless skipper agrees.
CREW (WHATSAPP GROUP)
Most big-boats have their own WhatsApp group. It is up to you to connect. Please update your plans in real time. Skippers will do the same.
