Named an “Artist to Watch” by SheBOPS Zine (USA), Semiah is a next-generation Mohawk innovator whose sound blends joyful hyperpop with acoustic singer-songwriter confessionals, anchored by a distinctive vocal tone that incorporates Haudenosaunee influences. UK magazine Under the Radar affirms, “Semiah is a fascinating performer who transcends genres.” Her sophomore EP LVR GRL was picked up by AWAL and features “DED 2 ME,” a twangy ballad mixed by JUNO Award-winning producer Gus van Go (The Beaches, Metric). The single “Clementine” was named Song of the Day by earshot! and Track of the Week by the Songwriters Association of Canada. The accompanying video, directed by Semiah, offers an Indigenous reimagining of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Over the past year, since her 2025 debut at Guilt & Co, Semiah won a DORA Award for Outstanding Composer, was deemed a top showcasing artist at Sweden’s VIVA Sounds, and invited support for Aysanabee and Jully Black.
