Winter Wines Virtual Tasting

Winter is a time of year when we like to come in out of the cold (or if you live in Arizona the slightly chilly) and warm up. We don’t just want to warm up on the outside, but on the inside as well.

At this tasting we will learn about and enjoy three wines that will definitely warm you up.

We will be tasting three fuller-bodied wines that you can enjoy with big bold food, but are also great to drink on their own by the fireplace with your fuzzy slippers on.

The wines we will be tasting and learning more about are:

Michael David Petite Petit, A blend of Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot, two grapes that produce deeply colored and bold wines. $12.49 before discounts at Total Wine, and available at other retailers and online. If you can’t locate this wine please substitute any other Petite Sirah.

Turley Zinfandel Juvenile. From who many consider America's preeminent zinfandel producer, this wine compares favorably to many of their more expensive bottlings. $27.99 before discounts at Total Wine, and widely available at other retailers and online. If you can’t locate this wine feel free to substitute any other Zinfandel.

Molly Dooker Two Left Feet. A blend of Shiraz, Merlot, and Cabernet, this bold and juicy wine by one of Australia's most popular producers will chase away the winter blues. $29.99 before discounts at Total Wine, and available at other retailers and online. If you can't find this wine you can substitute any Australian Shiraz/Cabernet or other Shiraz blend.

As far as food pairings go try anything with BBQ sauce on it, ribs, cow's milk cheese, pork ribs, or fatty cuts of meat.

The wines should be opened an hour or so before the event.

The event is free to attend but gratuities via Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal are accepted and appreciated.
