Travel back in time this winter at the Australian National Maritime Museum! From 5 to 19 July, explore the treasures of the Viking age, climb aboard historic vessels, pilot underwater drones, and get creative with hands-on workshops.

🧱 Bricktropolis: Viking Village & Mosaic
Use LEGO® bricks to build mythic monsters, legendary longboats, and custom minifigures for our collective display. Plus, help us build a massive collaborative mosaic mural, pixel by pixel. (Daily 10am–5pm | Included with paid admission, Members FREE)
✨ Hands-On Activities & Exhibitions
The Galloway Hoard: Explore our major new exhibition, Treasures of the Viking Age.
Kids on Deck: Dive into themed artmaking and science experiments in the maker space.
Deep-Sea Screenings: Grab a sketching guide and draw along to ambient deep-sea ROV footage. (Free, 6–19 July)
Bamal Gallery Book Nook: Create woven angelfish and paper florals inspired by Torres Strait Islander artist Brian Robinson.
Climb Aboard: Explore our historic fleet, including HMAS Vampire, HMAS Onslow, and the Endeavour.
🖤 Free NAIDOC Open Day (Sunday 5 July, 11am–3pm)
Celebrate "50 Years of Deadly" with a free community day featuring a smoking ceremony, Yuin dance workshops, live music by Ross Knight, and magnet making with Haus of Dizzy. (Free entry, bookings required)
🔨 Teen Jewelry Workshop (Thursday 9 July, 10am–4pm)
A full-day metalworking and jewelry workshop with Squarepeg Studios for ages 12–16. Tour the Viking exhibition for inspiration and craft your own custom brass or copper pieces. (Paid, bookings essential)
