Winter in the Wetland & Animal Detectives Camps
Despite the cold and wet forces of winter, our resilient natural world continues to be full of activity and wonder. Here at the Environmental Learning Center, these seasonal changes provide a learning ground for the ways the plants, animals, and people get through winter. Hands-on exploration, crafts, and nature-based play will engage campers in understanding winter in the wetland for our wildlife neighbors, from finding food to building shelter, and so much more!
Dress for the weather! Many camp activities will be outside, exploring and playing around the wetland. We will be indoors for breaks and craft projects.
Can't make it to camp? Order a Winter Explorer Kit ~ Tracks!
For those of you unable to make it to camp, we have camp in a box! The ELC’s Nature Spy Explorer Kits are sent right to your door or available for pick and have all the supplies your budding naturalist will need to learn, create, and play. Engaging crafts, fun facts, and playful activities will help them discover the natural world that surrounds them – from the comfort of home and neighborhood! Kits are designed for children ages 4-8, although we hear that older children enjoy them too!
Sending as a gift? The Tracks Explorer Kit can be wrapped up and saved as a gift.

Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships are available to families with a demonstrated need. To receive a scholarship select a scholarship ticket. In the order form, you will be asked to identify the programs that qualify your family to receive the scholarship (e.g. SNAP benefits). If you need additional support, please email us at [email protected].
Required Forms:
In order for your child to enjoy Winter Camp with us, we'll be sending forms for you to fill out. You can send the hard copies to us before camp starts or you can bring them with you when you drop off your child on Monday, December 21, 2026/ Monday, December 28, 2026. Please note: we must have these forms from you before you can leave your child with us.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
If you need to cancel your registration, we ask for one week's notice. We will accept cancellations up until Monday, December 14, 2026. We can refund the total ticket price, minus the Eventbrite Service Fee.
