About this Event

About Bird Walks

Join Us This Winter for Birding with DC Bird Alliance!

Discover the beauty of winter birding, the perfect season to observe our feathered friends! With the trees bare and migratory birds lingering, this is a unique opportunity to spot birds more easily and connect with fellow bird enthusiasts.

Experienced members of the DC Bird Alliance will lead the tour, sharing insights about local birds and conservation efforts. While registration is free, donations are appreciated to help support the important work of FONA and the Arboretum. Spaces are limited, so be sure to grab your tickets soon—they’ll go quickly! 🐦❄️

Reserve Your Ticket

This event is free. However, donations are suggested.

🌟 Support Our Mission! 🌟
We invite you to make a donation to FONA. Your contribution helps sustain valuable programs like this one and allows us to continue making a positive impact in our community. Thank you for your support!

We choose where we will hold the walk based on seasonality in the Arboretum. We'll reach out 1-2 days before the event with final details of the walk's location.

No pets or children under 16 for this experience.

Important Notes

Please do not bring unregistered guests. It is unfair to your fellow birders on the waitlist and unfair to our volunteer guides. If you are on the Waitlist and have not received an email that a space has opened, unfortunately we're at capacity and can't add more to our flock for this walk.

CANCELLATION: The walk will proceed in rain (best time to bird!), but will be cancelled in the event of heavy downpours or thunderstorm; cancellation will be emailed at least 2 hours before meeting time. So please check before you head out.

WHAT TO BRING / PARK INFO:

  • Sunscreen / Sun Protection
  • Comfortable footwear to walk or hike.
  • Water and snacks.
  • If you have binoculars, please bring them.

Refund Policy: Full refunds are provided for refund requests received up to 3 days prior to the program date.
