High stress and repeated exposure to traumatic situations is common not only in Emergency and Critical Care nursing (or most medicine in general) but also in EMS and Firefighting, LE, and Military members. Let unchecked, this can often lead to mental health decline and burnout.
Wings For Nurse promotes skydiving as a form of "therapy" to build mental health resiliency, self-confidence, and camaraderie for those of us in these types of careers.
While the name is strictly a callback to the first few years, don't be misled. This boogie is for everyone. MA, RT, MD, DO, RN, EMT-P, Tech, Engineer, Dispatcher, LEO, Active Duty, Veteran, and all their family are welcome. Come spend the Saturday with some pretty cool people. Whether jumper or spectator, it's going to be a core memory. The grill will be hot, Tiki opens after last load, and we'll finish the last load with the swoop-n-chug.
