About this Event
On Friday, March 21st at 6pm, join us in honoring Women’s History Month with a tasting of artisanal, woman made, small production Italian wines.
Women are often at the forefront of social movements and change, and the wine industry is no different. The wines below come from women who do not just work the vineyards and make the wine, but who have dedicated their lives to representing their lesser known region and its heritage.
Each woman works with the native grapes of their area, and in most cases, varieties that are specific to their local towns! Additionally, they adhere to certain agricultural philosophies and principles, which have made them leading figures in their respective communities and abroad.
We will also feature a wine from Terah Bajjalieh, a Palestinian American working with Italian varieties here in California, which will open the door to discuss our changing climate, in both weather patterns and our economy- why a local producer might choose a mediterranean variety over what have become classic CA wines (Cabernet, Zinfandel, Chardonnay…)?
Additionally, we will learn about their growing and winemaking techniques and overall philosophies that make them such respected powerhouses. Their perseverance and dedication to their values shines through in the wines– full of character, flavor and are alive.
Don't miss out on this exceptional event. Space is limited so register soon!
