🥾 Description
Ready for a day packed with history, stunning scenery, and royal landmarks? Join us for an unforgettable walk through Windsor Great Park, starting in the charming town of Windsor, famous for its cobbled streets, riverside views, and the magnificent Windsor Castle—the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world.
Our adventure begins by exploring the peaceful shores of Virginia Water Lake, then winding through the colourful Valley Gardens, bursting with rhododendrons and azaleas in spring. We’ll stop at Cow Pond, a picture-perfect spot covered in water lilies, before heading to some of the park’s most iconic monuments: the towering Totem Pole, carved from a 600-year-old cedar tree, and the historic Obelisk celebrating royal victories.
As we pass the Royal Lodge and enter Windsor Deer Park, keep an eye out for herds of deer roaming freely. Then comes the showstopper—the Copper Horse statue, standing proudly at the top of the hill. From here, the famous Long Walk stretches ahead, a breathtaking 4 km avenue lined with ancient trees, leading straight to Windsor Castle. It’s one of the most iconic views in England and the perfect way to finish our Hike.
This isn’t just a hike—it’s a chance to soak up nature, discover fascinating stories, and enjoy Windsor’s vibrant town atmosphere. After the walk, why not grab a coffee or explore the local shops? It’s the perfect ending to a royal day out!
