Con Brio Chamber Series is proud to present Karen Pallenberg, clarinet; Sally Schlichting, flute, and Kyle Farley Robinson, piano in their recital, Winds in Winter. This program features two stunning works, the jazzy and sublime concerto for clarinet by Aaron Copland, and the exhilarating concerto for flute by Jacques Ibert. Other works by Robert Muczynski and Camille Saint-Saens are also featured.Karen Pallenberg studied music at the University of Arizona, has served as principal clarinet with the Juneau Symphony, and performed with Orpheus Project and Con Brio. Sally Schlichting studied music at the Universities of Southern California and Washington and has played with many local ensembles and is a founding member of the Icefield Quartet. She is also the artistic director of Con Brio. Kyle Farley Robinson is a graduate of the University of Alaska Fairbanks where he studied piano with Dr. Eduard Zilberkant. Kyle is an active accompanist, having performed with many community groups in Juneau.
