Willow Storage Basket 2 Day Workshop with Sarah Le Breton

Make a beautiful, practical large storage basket. Using local Somerset willow, over two days (Thurs 25th & Fri 26th) you will learn the stylish diagonal / Irish side weave and create a substantial cylindrical basket with lovely leather handles.

Perfect size to use for laundry, logs or general storage, (approx. 50cm high x 35cm diameter). A feature basket in any room!

You’ll be weaving with willow locally grown on the Somerset Levels.

LEARN: How to create a large willow basket from a hybrid technique base and do leather handles.‍ ‍A frame platter base, a chasing 3 rod wale weave, the diagonal / Irish side weave, a 5 rod behind 2 rod border and make leather handles. (Leatherette - vegan handles also available).

ABILITY: Suitable for both beginners and those with existing willow weaving experience.

VENUE: Chevithorne Village Hall, Chevithorne, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 7PU. (15 minutes from M5, junction 27, 5 mins from A361 dual carriageway).

TIME: 9.15 arrival for 9.30am start. 5.30pm finish (approximately).

DETAILS: Maximum of 6 participants. Price includes all materials and refreshments. Tools provided. Sarah has teamed up with a lovely local caterer who provides us with a delicious homemade lunch of soup, sourdough bread, cheesy biscuits and cake. £12.50 Lunch payable on the day by card or cash.
