Sarah’s take on a traditional English Berry Basket, brought up to date with a leather handle.
This lovely neat basket is perfect for foraging seasonal fruits, as a lunch bag or even as a casual handbag!
You’ll be weaving with willow locally grown on the Somerset Levels.
LEARN: How to better hone the shape of a small round basket. A frame platter base, a 3 rod wale weave, an English rand side weave, a 4 behind 2 rod border and how to create a leather handle. (Leatherette - vegan handle also available).
ABILITY: Ideal for those with a little more basket weaving experience or for adventurous beginners!
VENUE: Chevithorne Village Hall, Chevithorne, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 7PU. (15 minutes from M5, junction 27, 5 minutes from A361 dual carriageway).
TIME: 9.15 arrival for 9.30am start. 5.45pm finish (approximately).
DETAILS: Maximum of 8 participants. Price includes all materials and refreshments. Tools provided. Sarah has teamed up with a lovely local caterer who provides us with a delicious homemade lunch of soup, sourdough bread, cheesy biscuits and cake. £12.50 Lunch payable on the day by card or cash.
