About this Event

Event Description

Thursday 22nd October 2026 Full-Day Training (at Cherith Christian Fellowship, Tiverton)

Follow-up Webinars (Online)

Wednesday 3rd March 2027 1545-1715

Tuesday 6th July 2027 1545-1715

This programme is designed to improve leadership through the deliberate practice of specific, high-impact leadership behaviours.

Rather than focusing on broad ideas or abstract models, it centres on what effective leaders actually do. Participants will practise these behaviours in realistic scenarios, apply them in their own setting, and refine them over time.

The programme is built on the principle that leadership improves when it becomes visible, specific, and practised deliberately.

The sessions act as the launch point. The real development happens in the months that follow, as participants apply, refine, and embed their leadership in practice.

What participants will gain

Participants will:

  • understand the evidence base behind effective leadership and why it matters in practice
  • develop a small number of carefully selected leadership behaviours linked to their role and context
  • practise these behaviours in structured scenarios with feedback and refinement
  • apply them immediately in their own school between sessions
  • build confidence, consistency, and clarity in their day-to-day leadership

Each session is designed so that participants leave with specific actions they are ready to implement the very next day.

What makes this programme different

Most leadership development focuses on ideas, reflection, and discussion. This programme focuses on practice. Participants will not simply discuss leadership. They will:

  • work on real leadership scenarios from their own context
  • script and rehearse key conversations and actions
  • receive structured feedback and refine their approach
  • leave with clear, actionable next steps

This creates a direct link between professional development and immediate improvement in practice.

Programme resources

Participants will receive:

  • Everyone Succeeds: 54 Behaviours to Transform Your School
  • Everyone Succeeds Workbook
  • 12 months’ access to the Everyone Succeeds online platform

These resources are fully integrated with the programme and support ongoing reflection, practice, and implementation.

Target Audience

  • aspiring leaders
  • middle leaders
  • senior leaders

The structure allows participants to apply the same core behaviours to their own role and context, ensuring relevance at every level.

About the trainers

Steve Margetts is the creator of the Everyone Succeeds leadership framework and Principal of Torquay Academy.

Over the past decade he has led significant school improvement, transforming outcomes and opportunities for young people in a community facing high levels of disadvantage. Drawing on educational research, leadership theory and observations of highly effective school leaders, Steve developed the Everyone Succeeds framework to identify and codify 54 leadership behaviours that help leaders improve schools and improve outcomes for young people.
