Wellesley Boutique Hotel | Wellington, WG
An exploration into the key stages of his life, his notable works, with some memorable quotes.
One of Wellingtons finest architects of the past. The presentation will focus on his extraordinary portfolio of work he carried out during his career. Familiar to many for its outstanding contribution to the place we all love to live and work in.
Known for his outstanding commercial projects like the Wellington Railway Station of the 1930’s and his Neo-Georgian Architecture like his Kent Terrace House for Sir James Elliot 1913, the presentation will also show Gray Young was prolific for his early residential work in the English Vernacular Style which adorns much of Kelburn and Wadestown in Wellington. Then outline how he built a very successful practice with his brother Jack Young and Herbert Morton designing many outstanding buildings throughout his career.
