Join us for a day of mammal tracking, in the Forest of Dean, where we could spot the elusive wild boar, or a roe deer or two. Tracker Al will demonstrate how to identify tracks and signs, whilst pointing out any interesting wildlife, such as birdlife. You will learn how to identify animal tracks and signs, such as droppings, tracks, feathers, eating signs and more! We will also be showing participants how to create plaster casts of wildlife tracks. Each participant will also be able to find a track, make the plaster cast and take the cast track home with them!
We will then spend a few hours, towards the end of the day to go in search of wild boar, fallow and roe deer, to try and give participants a good view of some of the magnificent creatures that call the Forest of Dean home.
💥 Please remember that we cannot guarantee sightings of wildlife. The Forest of Dean is a natural environment and the animals are wild, free and unpredictable.
For this walk you will need walking boots, waterproofs, snacks/water and a camera/binocular, as it can get muddy and cold. Please dress appropriately for the weather. We will be sticking to the main paths, with some uphill and downhill walking. Please bring lunch with you.
💥We will meet at 10.30am. Please follow the google maps link below for the car park:
