Wildfire Resilience: A Transcontinental Conversation
About this Event
This exhibit tells a story that brings to life the shared challenge of wildfires, and the collective efforts to protect wildlife and livelihoods across continents. We will highlight shared experiences between communities in Nigeria and the American West—focusing on both the impacts on wildlife and the inspiring action taken by local people.
Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with visual stories from around the world and hear from multi-award winning conservationist and researcher, Dr. Iroro Tanshi, who will give a short presentation at each event and participate in a question-and-answer session about wildfire resilience, conservation, and community-led solutions.
This tour was created to bridge the gap between science, storytelling, and public engagement. As wildfire impacts continue to grow globally, we believe it is critical to create spaces where people can learn from one another, connect across disciplines, and better understand the relationship between healthy ecosystems, climate resilience, and community well-being.
