Wild to Table Socials are coming back to the Wild Hub! This Nov 2nd, come learn about a unique environment that holds many wild foods and wild medicines: The Bog, specifically, the Sphagnum Peat Moss Bog.
You’ll have a 15-20min classroom lesson on what these bogs hold and how valuable they can be to a forager. With your registration, you get a complimentary snack. After the lesson, please stay, visit and eat something yummy!
We plan on making Jumbo Cinnamon Buns with a Winter Chanterelle Caramel Sauce all drizzled over and throughout the pastry.
What is a Winter Chanterelle? They are Yellowfoot mushrooms that grow late fall on the mossy bogs around Prince George. They have a mild earthy, pleasant taste and a wonderful texture. They are some of our favorite mushrooms to work with!
When we go gather these wonderful, late season mushrooms, we are often walking by a plethora of Labrador Tea bushes. The mossy bogs are full of it and the smell is that of a Labrador Tea and earthy scent. It's such a lovely and unique scent! So, to compliment the Cinnamon Bun, we will serve a ‘Labrador Tea’ Tea beverage.
It will be a cozy afternoon snack; perfect for this November weather. If you are adventurous and a Foodie, come to this unique event!

Note: As per our Insurance Company for all events we do, there will be a waiver for you to sign upon arrival. If you would like a copy before the event, please let me know and I can email one to you.
