INTRODUCTION TO TRACKING

Step into the fascinating world of animal tracking and learn how to interpret the natural environment in a whole new way. In this one-day introductory course, you’ll uncover the subtle signs animals leave behind—from footprints to feeding marks to hidden trails—and gain skills to recognize and read these clues.

Animal tracking is an ancient skill that opens a window into wildlife behaviour, providing insights into animals’ daily lives, movement patterns, and interactions. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a budding wildlife photographer, or simply curious about the outdoors, this course will give you practical tracking skills to deepen your understanding of the wildlife in your area.

You’ll learn the basics in a combination of classroom and field settings, where you’ll practice observing, recording, and analysing signs. Throughout the day, you’ll take part in hands-on activities and engage in group discussions to build your confidence as a tracker.
