Autumn Equinox Fused Glass Seasonal Lanterns & Bunting Workshop10:30am-12:30pm & 1:30pm-3:30pm
Taking place at Wightwick Manor in their craft/conference room. Ask for directions as you arrive.
Throughout the day Wolverhampton glass artist Suzie from Suzie Lavender Contemporary Glass will be teaching two sessions of fused glass making techniques. You are welcome to attend either the morning or afternoon workshop or you can attend both sessions for the day at a discounted price. These workshops are suitable for beginners or as a refresher course.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
Morning Session 10:30am-12:30pm: Seasonal Lanterns – Celebrate the Autumn Equinox and create your own seasonal lantern, think Autumn trees, sunsets or even an early festive design!
In this workshop you will learn some basic glass fusing, cutting and layering techniques with coloured glass. Participants will be introduced a selection of materials and tools. All participants will make and decorate glass panels to fit an ikea lantern (provided) in colours of your choice. The lantern types may vary, depending upon availability at time of workshop, and the number of glass panels made at the workshop will depend upon the overall size of the lantern provided. Suzie will update event once lanterns are purchased.
Lunch (not provided) 12:30-1:30pm. Wightwick Manor has a cafe on site and many areas for enjoying your lunch in the fresh air if the weather suits.
Afternoon Session 1:30pm-3:30pm: Seasonal Bunting Workshop - Participants will be choosing from coloured glass sheets to create five triangle hanging glass bunting pennants 8x9cm each. Participants will be introduced to a selection of materials and tools. Each participant will be able to choose from a selection of glass accessories to create their design to their choice of colour scheme. Always a popular workshop!
Participants who are regular attendees of Suzie’s workshops are welcome to make different projects to save repetition if they contact Suzie in advance.
All creations will be kiln fired by Suzie following the sessions and then collection from Wightwick Manor (or postage of the work can be organised) from 14days later.
Places are limited and expected to book up very quickly. Suitable for adults and for teens age 13 and over, under 16's must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Please note that access can be limited/difficult persons of disability due to the room’s location on the first floor. There is no lift and the room is not wheelchair accessible. Other venues where Suzie also holds workshops do have disabled access however, please contact Suzie for more information.
