About this Event
Why I speak of hope: Poetry as a Pedagogy for Peace - A thinking and learning space for educators and peace lovers/builders
Hosted by Educators for Peace and The Scottish Poetry Library, this event brings together the voices of poets whose work captures themes of hope, resistance and activism in times of crises.
By connecting poets, educators and interested members of the public, we seek to create a space to consider pedagogical opportunities for using poetry in peace education.
This event will feature poet Nada Shawa whose “voice and story are a bridge between Scotland, her home since childhood, and Gaza .… Her words are an almighty call to justice, a heart’s keepsake and a love song to family, culture and home”. (Karine Polwart)
