About this Event
Who is Claude Cahun? Participatory Theatre Workshop
Come join us at the OSO Arts Centre in Barnes for an interactive workshop exploring the play, "Who is Claude Cahun?" by Rowland D. Hill (D.R. Hill). The play is about the life and work of the enigmatic artist, Claude Cahun (nee Lucy Schwob). Led by an experienced Workshop Leader and the two actors playing Cahun and their partner, Marcel Moore, the team will share key scenes from the play which runs for 4 weeks at Southwark Playhouse in London from 18 June to 12 July. The script has developed since a rehearsed reading at Actors Writers London in December 2024.
Participants will have an opportunity to fire hot seat questions at the characters and author, to comment on the script and its themes, and to take part in related participatory theatre exercises. We will delve into the world of this courageous artist who with their life long partner, Marcel Moore (nee Suzanne Malherbe) used guerrilla art to bravely defy the Nazis in occupied Jersey during World War 2. We hope the workshop will be stimulating and enjoyable, as well as an opportunity to help the creative team further develop their work in response to your feedback.
See you there!
