Join others in a thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to paddleboard down the River Derwent on a so-called ‘Mega SUP’!
About this Event

On Saturday 6th September, a group of adventurous souls are climbing aboard a pair of Mega Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs) to head through white-water rapids and experience the thrill of paddleboarding as well as the joy of being part of a community experience in the beautiful Peak District. Will you join us?

The best way to experience the River Derwent is standing up in the middle of the river as you skim over the surface, passing through Matlock, past Lovers’ Walks park and Derwent Gardens, enjoying views of Willersley Castle and ending in the picturesque village of Cromford. Our expert guides will be on hand throughout the morning to provide guidance, safety and reassurance, meaning this event is suitable for seasoned fans of water sports, and those who have never ventured out on a paddleboard before.

Your registration fee and the sponsorship you can get to take on this challenge will help support Shelter’s vital work in tackling the housing emergency across the UK.

Registration fee: £50

Fundraising target: £250

Book a whole board (6 people): £250

Please note, this event costs Shelter £75pp to put on. All additional income will be used to further the fight for a safe home for everyone.
