Summer’s Last Light - A Late Summer Cacao & Fire Ceremony
About this Event
About the event
Join Moksha Holistic Therapies CIC for a special evening amongst the ancient woodland, flowing waters and old stone of Lumsdale Valley, a gathering of cacao, nature, meditation, fire and community. Late summer carries a unique spiritual energy. It is a time of fullness and ripening. The earth has been giving abundantly, the sun has warmed the land throughout summer, and life has been in its expansive phase. Yet beneath that fullness, a subtle inward turning has already begun. The evenings begin to draw in and the light changes.
Nature begins to prepare for the inward Yin movement of autumn. This threshold between seasons gives us an opportunity to pause and reflect on our own journey.
During the evening we will reflect on the following:-
What has this season brought you?
What has grown within you?
What are you grateful for?
What are you ready to release?
And what will you carry with you as the wheel turns?
An Evening with Moksha
Moksha was created around a simple belief: healing is not something that happens in isolation.
It can happen through connection with ourselves, through connection with others, through time spent in nature, through ceremony, through creativity, through movement, through stillness and through remembering that we are part of something greater than ourselves. For many years, Moksha has brought together different approaches to wellbeing and personal transformation including somatic practices, energy work, meditation, breathwork, nature connection, community circles, plant medicine traditions, ceremony and embodied healing.
Our work is rooted in creating spaces that are welcoming, inclusive and trauma-informed, where people don't have to arrive with everything figured out. You don't need to identify as spiritiual. You don't need previous experience with cacao or ceremony. You simply need to arrive as yourself.
For this evening, we'll weave these different strands of Moksha together into a seasonal gathering using the natural environment of Lumsdale as part of the experience itself.
Cacao & The Heart
We'll begin by arriving into the land, grounding ourselves and connecting as a group before sharing ceremonial cacao. Cacao has a long history of relationship with human beings, particularly within Central and South American traditions, and has become a meaningful part of modern ceremonial practice. Within our gathering, cacao is approached with respect, gratitude and intention. Rather than coming to the ceremony looking for a particular experience, we'll use the sharing of cacao as an invitation to slow down, become present and turn our attention towards the heart. Through guided meditation, breath, embodiment and reflection, we'll create space to listen inwardly. You may be invited to explore:
What has been nourishing me?
What has this season taught me?
Where am I being called to open?
What am I ready to leave behind?
Sunset Meditation
As the late afternoon begins to soften into evening, we'll move into a period of stillness with a guided sunset meditation. Surrounded by the valley, trees and water, we'll take time to simply witness the changing light.
The sunset becomes more than a beautiful moment in nature. It becomes a reminder that nothing stays still.
The light changes. The seasons change. We change. We'll use this natural transition as an opportunity to honour the summer that has been, its experiences, lessons, relationships, joys and challenges , while making space for the season that is approaching. A moment to breathe. A moment to receive. A moment to simply be.
Fire & Transformation
As the last light disappears and the valley begins to fall into dusk, we'll return to the warmth of the fire.
Fire has always carried powerful symbolism across human cultures, warmth, transformation, purification, renewal and the carrying of light through darkness. Around the fire we'll explore what we may be ready to release as summer comes to an end. Through reflection and a simple seasonal fire ritual, we'll have an opportunity to symbolically offer something back to the flames. Perhaps something we no longer need or something that has completed its journey. Or maybe Something we are ready to stop carrying.
And then, from stillness, we'll bring the energy back into the body. The evening will gradually shift from introspection towards celebration/Because connection is also medicine. Laughter is medicine. Music is medicine. Community is medicine.
Your Facilitators
Azim Nobeebaccus
International Healer • Curandero • Founder of Moksha
Azim is an international healer, curandero and founder of Moksha Holistic Therapies CIC, with more than 15 years of experience working within the fields of holistic healing, personal transformation, nature connection and plant traditions. His journey has taken him across different healing traditions and communities, including extended work with plant medicines and traditional practitioners (Shipibo & Ashaninka tribes) in South America.
His approach brings together somatic and embodied healing, energy work, meditation, breath, nature connection, ritual, sound and plant-based traditions, creating spaces where people can explore their inner worlds while remaining grounded in the body and the natural environment. For Azim, ceremony is not about creating something extraordinary for people to experience. It is about creating the conditions for people to listen to themselves, to nature, to the wisdom of the body and to the relationships that surround them.
He brings a deep reverence for the plants, the elements and the traditions from which this work has emerged, while keeping the spaces he facilitates accessible, grounded and human.
Samantha Nobeebaccus
Co-Director of Moksha Holistic Therapies CIC • Somatic Therapist
Samantha is co-director of Moksha and brings a warm, compassionate and deeply human quality to the spaces she facilitates. Her work centres around emotional wellbeing, personal development, connection and community, with an emphasis on creating environments where people can feel welcomed, respected and able to be themselves. Samantha brings a grounding balance to the more ritual and ceremonial aspects of the evening, helping create a space that holds both depth and lightness, reflection and laughter, inner work and genuine human connection.
Together, Azim and Samantha have spent years developing Moksha as a space where different pathways to wellbeing can meet, from individual healing work to community gatherings, nature-based experiences, men's and women's circles, ceremony, education and collective practice.
From Ceremony into Community
At Moksha, we believe that the moments after the deeper work can be just as important as the ceremony itself.
So as the evening unfolds, there will be time to simply be together.
To sit around the fire.
To share food.
To talk.
To laugh.
To listen.
To meet someone new.
To reconnect with someone you already know.
The ceremony becomes a gathering.
The gathering becomes community.
And perhaps this is one of the most important things we can remember as we move through life:
We don't have to walk through the changing seasons alone.
