This month, our gallery walls come alive with the vibrant new works of acclaimed Houston artist Annette Palmer, whose bold, luminous style sets the perfect tone for a warm summer evening among friends, old and new.

Sip on refreshing cocktails and mocktails as you wander through the gallery, taking in Palmer's artistic vision up close. Dressed in crisp white, our community gathers for an evening that's equal parts elegant and easygoing — the kind of night that captures everything we love about summer in the city.

Featured Exhibition: Divided Light

Debuting in August, Divided Light is Annette Palmer's newest collection — a series of diptychs that meditates on what remains after loss. Each paired painting explores the space between absence and presence, where physical separation gives way to something enduring: the quiet persistence of love, memory, and spirit. It's a body of work about connection that outlasts distance, and about the light that finds its way through even the deepest divides.

Come for the mocktails and conversation. Stay for the Opening Reception of Abstraction, the same evening from 6–8 p.m., featuring a special presentation by our Guest Juror, Deborah Ellington, at 7 p.m.
