About this Event

Join Glasgow Girls Club, in partnership with The Social Hub, this International Women’s Day for a special screening of Where We Stop —a powerful short film exploring coercive control, abusive relationships & friendship.

‘Where We Stop.’ has received an overwhelmingly positive reaction from women and girls across Glasgow and beyond, since launching in November 2024.

This screening will be followed by a dynamic, industry-led panel discussion exploring the themes including; creating authentic activist media, how to engage young women, alternative routes into film & media, the power of community, and how violence against women and girls is portrayed in the media.

This film was created by the Glasgow Girls Club in collaboration with Glasgow City Council, The Carter Center, and young women all over Glasgow. While created to highlight the ‘red flags’ of abuse one of the main aims of this film was to be authentic to young women's voices throughout the whole filmmaking process. Through focus groups, mentoring programmes and using the writers own experiences of Domestic Violence this film was truly made by young women, for young women.

This event is a unique opportunity to connect with fellow creatives, students, industry professionals, and community voices while discussing the role of media in driving social change.
