About this Event
Where the Soul Finds Its Home — A Ceremony of Belonging ( public)
An exhibition and sensorial collaboration
Where the Soul Finds Its Home explores displacement, belonging, and the rituals through which we gather ourselves again. Across paintings layered with Farsi words, textures of memory, and colours drawn from personal and collective histories, artist Sara Shamsavari invites us to consider:
What does home feel like? And how do we carry it with us when we are far from where we began?
In partnership with Kiani Tea at the Royal Exchange, the exhibition extends beyond the visual. Each artwork is thoughtfully paired with a signature Persian-inspired drink — embracing the idea that belonging is not just seen, but tasted, shared, and embodied.
Follow the colour journey:
• Gardesheh Edaalat — Journey of Justice
Paired with Blue Matcha: seas, sky, and the route home — a search for justice that moves like water.
• Shokooheh Shaahaaneh — Majesty
Paired with Persian Garden: grounding greens and a quiet crown of gold.
• Baghiyeh — What Remains
Paired with Sour Cherry & Rose Sharbat: sweetness, sharpness, and the hues of survival.
• Baghaayaa — Fragments
Paired with Saffron Pashmak Latte: golden threads woven back into what was once broken.
• Aadaabeh Shafaa — Rituals of Repair I, II & III
Paired with Rose Petal Matcha and Blue Matcha: soft restoration in dialogue with resilience. Where the Soul Finds its Home
