Where I'm From: The Experience - Richmond Book Launch
This is NOT your average book event. The Where I'm From Experience is a dynamic one-woman show featuring stories, poetry, photography, video, and audience engagement inspired by Ebony's journey across five continents and fifteen countries in celebration of her debut memoir Where I'm From: A Poetic Journey Across.
$10 -$15 suggested donation help offset the cost of the event and you are going to get a dynamic experience. Donation not required. Don't let cost be a barrier.
The evening includes:
• Wine and chocolates from around the world
• An immersive photo wall and visual journey
• A 45-minute multimedia storytelling performance
• A live audience Q&A
• An interactive community engagement activity
• An open mic inspired by the "Where I'm From" poem at the heart of the book
Doors open at 6:30 PM for drinks and mingling. The program begins at 7:00 PM.
Open MIC
I will invite attendees to create their own "Where I'm From" poem to reflect on your story. Where are you from? What people, places, traditions, and experiences shaped who you are becoming? You will be invited to share during the open mic.
Come prepared to share, listen, connect, and celebrate.
This is more than a book launch. It's a journey, a conversation, and an experience.
