When You Can't Let Go
Often, what we struggle to let go of is not simply held in the mind, but also within the body and nervous system. Experiences of overwhelm, emotional pain, stress, grief, or difficult life experiences can continue to show up through tension, looping thoughts, emotional charge, numbness, reactivity or a persistent sense of holding on.
This workshop offers a gentler possibility. Rather than trying to force release or push away what is present, we will explore what it might be like to turn toward these places with curiosity, compassion and support. Together, we will explore a nervous system informed, body based approach that invites awareness of what is here, while also building connection to steadiness, support and resource.
As explored through Focalising and slow embodiment practices, meaningful change does not always come through dramatic moments of release. Sometimes, when experiences are gently met rather than forced away, and when the nervous system has enough support and capacity, things may begin to soften or shift naturally in their own time.
Through guided experiential practices, you are invited to:
Learn about the principles of Focalising and how gentle awareness of the body can support greater self awareness, understanding and connection
Explore what may sit beneath the feeling of “not being able to let go”
Connect with internal and external supports that help create greater steadiness and grounding
Practice meeting sensations, emotions, and inner experiences with curiosity rather than judgement
Explore the possibility that meaningful change can emerge through presence, awareness, and compassionate attention
This workshop is experiential and invitational. No prior experience with somatic or body-based practices is required, only a willingness to gently notice and explore.
