Bubbles are always perfect spheres. There’s a reason, and it’s been hiding in your bath water your whole life.
About this Event

You’ve blown a thousand bubbles in your life and never once asked why they’re always round. Turns out there’s a reason — a sphere is the shape that holds the most air using the least possible surface. Nature doesn’t do anything by accident, and neither does soap. And when bubbles cluster together, they stop being round at all — they snap into precise hexagons, packing together like tile on a bathroom floor. A UVic math professor with over 600,000 YouTube subscribers breaks down the math behind both shapes, live bubble demos included.

Every Sip Smarter talk includes a 45-minute lecture and open Q&A — all over drinks.
