About this Event

About

Join this day-long workshop, part of the , bringing together academics and stakeholders from government and policy organisations to explore the future of AI in urban planning.

The workshop is a collaboration between AI4CI and the Digital Task Force for Planning. Its aim is to connect urban planners, policymakers and academics to facilitate conversations about the future role of AI in urban planning.

The event connects to current AI4CI Smart Cities research taking place within CASA, which explores the use of AI in relation to residential planning in London, examining how large public datasets can be accessed and synthesised to generate meaningful insights.

The workshop will feature presentations from academics and key policy stakeholders, including Professor Mike Batty (CASA) and Wei Yang, CEO of the Digital Task Force for Planning. In the afternoon, attendees will take part in a facilitated workshop exploring how to design a better urban planning system and the role that data and AI might play within it.

A live illustrator will create visual minutes throughout the day.

Featuring presentations from CASA academics and a session led by Moral Imaginations, the workshop offers a chance to connect with policymakers and researchers to consider how AI might help address pressing challenges in urban planning.
