About this Event
Welcome to the second our health inequality engagement sessions aimed at improving the health of the Pakistani community.
This is an initative which has been funded by Public Health Birmingham but is conducted by The Delicate Mind.
Did you know that only a third of Pakistani men meet the five-a-day recommendation (33%) which is slightly less then Pakistani women (32%).
Research indicates that South Asians, including Pakistanis, have a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes compared to other ethnic groups. This increased risk is linked to various factors, including genetics, lifestyle choices, and potentially socioeconomic factors.
This is why this session is targeted at those from the Pakistani community and will be a safe and welcoming space for everyone to learn, connect, and grow together.
We will explore healthy eating, behaviour change, diet and nutrition in the Pakistani community, as well as sharing more information about our brand new community allotment, in which we are growing free fresh fruit and vegetables to directly tackle this ineuqality!
Come along to this welcoming and fun session! We are having issues with registration, so if you cannot register via Eventbrite please just send us an email at [email protected].
Disclaimer: This session is targeted at those from the Pakistani community but all people are welcome to share in knowledge and learning.
