About this Event
In this two-hour interactive workshop, participants engage with failure, vulnerability, curiousity and co-creation as practical tools for teaching. Through simple, embodied exercises, we explore how clowning can open up more responsive, human and relational ways of being in pedagocical spaces.
About the teacher
Sara Sedberg is self-described as an ‘academic idiot’ with a passion for blending clowning and education. Sara holds an MA with distinction in Applied Theatre from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where her dissertation explored what educators can learn from the clown’s use of and perception of failure. Prior to that, she earned an MA with distinction in Teacher Education from the University of Stavanger.
Currently, Sedberg is a university lecturer of Applied Theatre and Drama Pedagogy at the University of Stavanger in Norway, where she incorporates the use of clowning as pedagogy into her curriculum. She is also associate artist of Brighton Clown School.
