About this Event
Come and join Youngwilders for a day of wetland creation and protecting ancient oak trees!
Who is this for?
For young people aged 18-30 interested in spending time outside and doing some hands-on nature recovery work!
What to expect:
We will spend half the day planting wetland plug plants to reintroduce wetland species into a newly created wetland area! The other half of the day will be focused on a number of ancient oaks which are dotted around the site; these trees need a bit of love to help restore and protect them after historic over-grazing.
About Castle Howard:
Castle Howard is the newest youth-led rewilding project at Youngwilders. It covers about 50 acres of the estate in Yorkshire with wood pasture, a wet woodland and a stream called Mill Hills Beck.
