Got pesky moth plants lurking in your backyard? Left unchecked, this invasive species can quickly take over. You can make a real difference by collecting and disposing of its pods before they burst and spread their seeds on the wind.
This time of year is prime pod time for moth plants, which means if they’re not dealt with now even more with be popping up. That’s why we’ve set up a community pod disposal event. You collect them, we’ll handle the rest!
How it works
1. Locate the moth plants your backyard or neighbourhood (make sure you get approval from neighbours first!)
2. Put on gloves and cover exposed skin (the sap can cause a rash)
3. Pull out the main vine if you can or cut it and paste with herbicide to stop next year’s crop
4. Cut or pull off the pods
5. Bag them in black rubbish bags and bring them to our event
6. We’ll pop them in our trailer for disposal – easy as!
So, round up the kids or grandkids, grab your gloves, and start picking those pods. Every pod disposed of helps keep our community free of this invasive W**d!
