For over 25 years WASMEx has been Western Australia's premier scale modelling event.
WASMEx is a volunteer organised, multi hall exposition held over 2 days in August 2026.
The main hall features displays by both local clubs and individual enthusiasts and also commercial stands representing some of Perth's major hobby retailers.
A second hall incorporates the WA scale model building championship competition - a fantastic display of built scale models of all types including aircraft, military vehicle, watercraft, busts / figures, civilian vehicles, Sci-fi / fantasy and Gundam. Young builders can also join in the Intermediate and Junior categories.
You don't need to be in a club to enter the competition.
New for this year, Wargamers group Outpost 6030 Inc are running an exciting Vanguard format - bolt action tournament.
A static display of vintage military vehicles will be onsite along with food and drinks being available.
Sunday morning hosts a second-hand market to allow builders to sell unbuilt models and kits from their personal stash or buyers to pick up a model to add to theirs!
There will be hundreds of scale models on display along with hobby vendors and various Perth and regional clubs in attendance.
It is a family friendly event and a great weekend activity.
