Wes is a great singer/songwriter with plenty to say! He has had his struggles but has turned his life around and like many hard-bitten road warriors, Wes Shipp has spent much of his life traveling, busking, and fighting his inner demons, including an addiction to drugs. Ironically, he was once filmed outside a Walmart busking while still an addict. The video went viral, and ever since, he’s been making his mark by sharing songs that describe tales of heartbreak, survival and sheer perseverance.His covers of Keith Whitley’s songs have been shared by the Whitley family on their social media platforms multiple times. He draws from other influences as well, including Don Williams, Hank Williams Jr and Randy Travis. “I was always into music,” Shipp said. “I learned how to play guitar fairly quickly as a teenager and from then on just fell in love with playing and singing.”
Shipp’s career has evolved at a fairly rapid pace. “It’s been crazy so far,” he said. “Especially when you take into consideration where I was three years ago. I’ve performed all over the country. It’s been amazing and vastly different the last few months. I’m very grateful for the love and support.”
