The ROCovery Wellness #getbusylearning workshop series is back!
This week we will be joined by Dr. Diane Morse, meeting in person at ROCovery.
Dr. Diane Morse is an internal medicine physician. She works with local and national organizations to establish and maintain community resources for incarcerated individuals, support people recovering from substance use disorders and provide medical care to individuals from vulnerable communities. Dr. Morse runs the WISH clinic which provides healthcare, including mental health support, to people after incarceration. In addition, she does on harm reduction for victims of domestic violence.
Her discussion will include tips on how to navigate our healthcare system to ensure patients and families receive optimal care. She will share information about subjects that are heavily stigmatized in medicine including addiction, incarceration and intimate partner violence. We hope this session will be an opportunity for attendees to ask candid questions and learn from Dr. Morse’s experience.
This series of health and wellness workshops are held in collaboration with the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry (URSMD).
Workshops focus on topics designed for our community, to address a variety of needs and questions around health and wellness. We can all work together to improve our overall health, which is what we are all about!
During each workshop, we will host a speaker from the Rochester community to discuss a specific health education topic.
This event is for individuals who are 18 years or older.
