Wellbeing Walk: City Escape
About this Event
Overview
Take a break from the bustle of everyday life and join us for a peaceful wellbeing walk starting from Botcherby Community Centre, Carlisle. This relaxing route follows the River Eden east of Carlisle, offering an opportunity to slow down, connect with nature, and enjoy the green spaces on the edge of the city.
As we walk, we'll take time to listen to the changing sounds of the river and tune into the birdsong around us. Participants will also be introduced to the Merlin Bird ID app, a simple and engaging way to identify birds by sight and sound. Along the route, we'll look out for the wildlife that calls this riverside habitat home and explore how spending time in nature can support our wellbeing.
The walk is up to 5km in length and will last approximately 90 minutes, with a friendly pace suitable for most abilities.
