Get certified to inspect your own septic system (Clark County, WA residents) and learn how to properly maintain your well and septic system
About this Event

Learn how to properly inspect, maintain and protect your septic system and well. Plus, save money by getting certified to inspect your own system at home (NOTE: this is only for conventional gravity-fed septic systems at your own Clark County residence, every-other inspection may be a self-inspection starting with a professional inspection).

The class will cover:

o Septic inspection demo video

o Well and septic maintenance tips

o Septic inspection certification test

You can save money by getting certified to do your own inspection. Here are the conditions that must be met. The septic system must be:

o a conventional gravity-fed system

o owner-occupied

o previously inspected by a certified inspector (homeowners can do inspections every other time, satarting with and alternating with a certified inspector)

o at your primary residence and not part of the sale of your property.

Participating in this workshop and taking a short exam at the end will allow you to inspect your own septic system, if it meets the above criteria. NOTE: you will receive a self-inspection form at this workshop (this will be your indication that your able to self-inpect your system, and you will not receive a self-inspection certificate. For future self-inspections, if you do not receive a self-inpection form in the mail, just reach out the Clark County Public Health).

Scholarships are available to all whom registration fees are a barrier to attend, by emailing [email protected].

This workshop is hosted by the Small Acreage Program of WSU Clark County Extension, sponsored by the Clark County Clean Water Program, and presented by Clark County Public Health.

If you would rather take part in a future Well and Septic Workshop, you may email [email protected] to be added to the notification list.

WSU Extension programs are available to all without discrimination. Persons requiring special accommodations should call WSU Clark County Extension at (564) 397-5729 prior to the event.
