Welcome to Edinburgh Zoo: New Parents social!

Our New Parents socials are created for new parents looking to spend some time at the zoo and build their community. The socials offer a friendly environment where everyone is welcome and all contributions are valued. They are suitable for first-time visitors and for those who might not regularly come to the zoo, as well as people who have always loved visiting.

The social will take place on the fourth Friday of each month from September through June. The socials are relaxed and informal, start with tea and cake, and feature a range of activities inspired by our animals and conservation work.

Each month will be a different topic and include lighthearted conversation and engaging activities. The first social of the season will be an introduction to the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, and all things Edinburgh Zoo! You will learn a bit about the history of the charity, the amazing animals we look after, and some of the important conservation work we do both here in Scotland and around the world. We will also meet some of our resident favourites up close!

The event runs from 10:30 till 12:00 in the Education Centre and around the zoo. When you arrive at the zoo, you can either enter through our main reception and head straight to Education, or if you would like to enter through Member's Gate, please let us know and we can arrange to make sure the gate is open and someone will come to meet you just before 10:30. The Education Centre is fully accessible, and we will ensure to use all accessible paths when visiting enclosures around the zoo. Our team will be on hand to show you the way on the day.

The event is £8 per adult which covers the event and entry to the zoo for the day. Please book one ticket for each person attending (you will not have to book a ticket for your baby). Spaces are limited, so we can offer a space for up to two adults and a baby. Please ensure you cancel your booking if you can no longer attend so that we can give tickets to other people.
