About
Chicken Ranch Records and friends present a pair of documentaries that tell the stories of a legendary band and an amazing human being. Both stories are from outsiders who triumphed over personal demons and prejudice by living
an authentic and wonderful life.
"Weirdo: The Story of Five Eight" is a long awaited documentary from Georgia filmmaker Marc Pilvinsky.
After his parents pulled him out of a mental hospital against doctors’ orders, Mike Mantione picked up a guitar and started writing songs to quell his demons; Forty years later, after a million ups and downs, Five Eight is still here and still great. Running time 103 minutes.
"Freeman" is a 50 minute documentary about Northeast Louisiana native, the late Freeman Stamper, a leading philanthropist, veteran, and OG drag performer in 1970s San Francisco. Directed by John Sutherlin, "Freeman" is about living your life honestly and helping and inspiring others who are beginning their journey.
