Many of Joi T. Arcand’s artworks connect nêhiyawêwin (Plains Cree) words to the land or to public places. Inspired by her work ᐁᐸᐢᐹᐱᐟ ᐚᓰᓇᒫᓂᕁ ᐚᐸᐦᑕᑦ ᐁᓈᓈᐦᑌᔨᐠ, create an artwork that ties words into a landscape. Try to make the words feel at home, rooted in nature, or make them pop and own the space. You can view the work that inspired this workshop in person at the MacKenzie Art Gallery.
This workshop is led by one of our amazing Gallery Educators.
When: Sundays, 1–3 PM
Where: The Learning Centre at the MacKenzie Art Gallery
