Explore music and drumming as meditation, lead by Dr. John Price. Every Monday at 6PM at the Center for Healing Arts & Sciences.
About this Event

Join us every Monday at 6 PM at the Center for Healing Arts and Sciences for a unique meditative journey that blends the ancient traditions of drumming and flute playing, fostering a serene and reflective atmosphere. Open to all levels, this 45-minute class invites you to explore the power of music as meditation.

We begin with a few minutes of silent reflection to set the tone for an immersive experience. As the gentle sounds of the drum and flute guide you into a waking trance state, you’ll find yourself engaged in active imagination, akin to dreaming while awake. This practice eases the overwhelming nature of silent meditation, making it accessible for everyone.

Our sessions conclude with a shared community experience, offering a space to connect and reflect on your journey. Benefits include achieving a calm presence, deepening your connection with your inner life, reducing anxiety, and consciously engaging with your inner world.

Come and be part of a supportive community where music leads the way to inner peace and self-discovery.
The Drum-guided Meditation is lead by Dr. John Price.

**Please Note: For May 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th John Price will be away but we have two really wonderful practitioners stepping in for Drum-Guided Meditation.

Deanna Graham, BS,BCM will be guiding May 4th & 25th

Deanna’s career began with a Bachelors of Biology from University of Houston and

working as a research technician at Baylor College of Medicine. Choosing to pursue a

passion, she trained at Art Institute of Houston receiving a Bachelors of Culinary

Management as well as a Pastry degree. She worked for a decade in various kitchens

before discovering shamanism.

Deanna is a member of the Wolastoqiyik Wahsipekuk First Nation who was raised apart

from her reservation. In 2019, Deanna took her first course in Core Shamanism where

she learned methods for connecting with compassionate Helping Spirits. The

subsequent teachings she has received from Spirits have helped her better understand

her place in this world as well as many of her natural inclinations. For her, interacting

with Spirits was akin to coming home.

She has furthered her training with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS) through

their advanced initiations programs. Her spiritual training continued with Sundoor’s

Firewalking Instructor Program and Spirit Dance’s Conscious Breathwork and

Rebirthing trainings. She believes that she will always be a student, continually learning

from nature, spirits, and people of all kinds.

As a shamanic practitioner, Deanna utilizes the drum and sometimes a rattle to journey

to unseen realities to bring back healing and wisdom to the world. She treats each

client session as an opportunity to bring Helping Spirits’ healing and wisdom into this

world.

She teaches Core Shamanic methodologies as Guest Faculty with the FSS.

Additionally, she has a podcast, Spirit Stories, where she shares accounts received

from compassionate Helping Spirits. https://www.buzzsprout.com/2555840
