6-months ago, We Ride Why finally premiered in our city under the Space Needle. There is something incredibly special about viewing a film you directed and produced with friends on the big screen. Shared experiences seem to be fewer and further between. One of the subjects of our film, Bennett White, who was in stage-4 cancer said it best. “We all need to help each other to help get through the hard times.” Cancer is hard times. War is hard times. Oppression is hard times. The world is going through hard times and we need each other and we need to connect more now than ever. We are doing our best to do our small part to bring some light and love into the world through hard times.
For those of you who were not able to attend the live screening this past June - On Saturday, February 21, we are coming back to the big screen at SIFF Seattle Center for a live screening. We are honored to partner with Cascade Bicycle Club who do so much to improve the overall experience for cyclists in the PNW. We are also honored to have our Fred Hutch Obliteride Team partner Cascade Bicycle Studio. 2026 will be the third year for the team.
The event will be co-hosted by KEXP’s Troy Nelson and the voice of We Ride Why, Grammy Winner and Cancer survivor Michael A Wansley. We have some special things planned.
Like last time, it is not just a screening. It is an evening for others to come together to connect share in safe space where you are seen. The “Seattle Freeze” does not exist in our world.
