We Met at Game Night: Taboo

Simply put, taboo topics are things we’re not supposed to talk about. But avoiding challenging conversations is contributing to the isolation and polarization many of us feel. 

Building empathy for others, especially those who are different from us, is key to fostering deeper, more meaningful connections. That’s why We Met in Miami is partnering with Mosaic Miami — a local nonprofit with nearly 90 years of practice facilitating dialogue across lines of difference — for a night of connection, civility and courage.

Not to mention competitive and uproarious fun! 

Taboo was far and away the fan favorite at our Game Night series this summer. Building on that success, we’re thrilled to invite you to a new twist on the Game Night concept.

We’ll still play timed rounds with table shuffles, to make sure everybody gets a chance to meet. This time, we’ll play only Taboo. Then, we’ll dive into small-group conversations on taboo topics.

As always, we’ll wear wristbands that show others what we’re looking for: green for love, blue for friendship and rainbow for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. (Yes, you can wear more than one!) 

And if you meet someone special, we’ll help you reconnect after the event.

Join us for this unique experience at Ampersand Studios, Miami’s premier creative coworking space, located north of downtown Miami. PayByPhone street parking is available in the surrounding area.

Complimentary beer, wine and Topo Chico seltzer will be provided. 

Here’s what to expect:

6 p.m. Check in and get your wristbands and name tags. Grab a drink and start mingling.

6:45 p.m. We’ll begin with some introductions and an opening icebreaker.

7 p.m. We’ll play Taboo, then shuffle tables and play more Taboo!

8:15 p.m. We’ll dive into two rounds of taboo conversations, with the help of community facilitators, shuffling tables in between.

9:25 p.m. We’ll end the evening with a group photo.

9:30 p.m. After party! Continue the conversation next door at The Canvas Bar.
