We Hike to Heal - FREE Women's Group Hike - Metro Atlanta

We'll be hiking the Yellow trail at Sweetwater Creek State Park - which is a 3 mile trail just 20 miles west of Atlanta. This is a moderate level hike in the shaded forest with some hiking distance along the river. We welcome all fitness levels to join us; the goal is to enjoy the journey, we are never in a race!

We will take breaks along the way to enjoy the beauty around us and catch our breaths. There will also be a short period of time to rest, snack, and connect; through journaling, discussions, or simply being.

There's a small sandy "beach" area along the wide area of the river for those who would like to cool off!

Time: 9:00 am please be punctual! We will meet at the parking lot near the Park Office - look for the We Hike to Heal banner (there are many different areas to park )

Location/Directions: Sweetwater Creek State Park. 1750 Mt. Vernon Road, Lithia Springs GA 30122.

Parking: $5.00- cash or scan QR code. We encourage carpooling

Difficulty level/Distance: Moderate/3.3 miles

Restroom Facilities: There are bathroom facilities at the Park Office

What you will need for this hike:

• Plenty of water to drink! (we recommend at least 1-3 liters)
• Sunblock and/or hat to protect you from the sun
• Comfortable hiking shoes/boots or trail sneakers
• Comfortable moisture wicking clothing - workout clothes work just fine!
• A daypack/backpack to carry all your items
• A towel to sit on if you're uncomfortable sitting on the ground
• Your journal and a pen
